Beautiful Bali

I have just returned from my latest trip to Bali. The whole reason for this trip was for my fiancé and I to find a venue for our wedding next year and I think we may have found a couple of very cool places. Exciting…..very much so. Bali is a place Irene and I have visited a few times of the last couple of years, and we just keep falling in love with it.
So after all the driving around, I was given a few opportunities to capture this amazing country and its landscape.

Helping Hand.
This family of Balinese locals got a ride into town from another local. The older man featured in this photo was asleep as we approached the vehicle and only awoke when I decided to take a shot. The 100% zoom on this photo has the man looking straight down the lens.
And as soon as I took the shot, he fell back asleep.

Mount Assiniboine

Mount Assiniboine is located on the Great Divide on the Alberta-British Columbia border in Canada’s Rocky Mountain area. Assiniboine can be seen from the Sunshine Village Ski resort if you look north over the Sunshine Meadows area from Lookout or Standish Mountains. It is the highest peak in the southern continental range and rises to a height of just under 12,000ft. I was lucky to work at Sunshine Village for a ski season as a liftie, and it was by far the most awesome thing I have ever done. To work and live in the Canadian Rockies for 7 months was just mind-blowing. I will return to photograph the area again soon enough. Canada’s Rockies are truly one of those magical places where every turn you make is another postcard shot. Loved every minute I was there 🙂

Hamersley Gorge, Karijini National Park

Hamersley Gorge is located in the north-western area of the famous Karijini National Park. It is about a hour drive from the main rangers headquarters. A large part of the drive is on gravel road, so extra care should be taken if you decide to head up this way. You will not be disappointed if you do. The gorge itself may not be as spectacular as the main attractions at Weano and Dales Gorge, but it is gorgeous in its own right. While still visited by a large amount of visitors to the park it isn’t nearly as busy as the other two popular gorges and that is what makes it great to visit. As everyone knows it can get very hot in Karijini and the waterholes that accompany the gorges comes at a great relief for travellers.
When you arrive at Hamersley Gorge you take a short stroll down some stairs (be careful as some parts of the decent are a little steep) and you will arrive at the waterhole. If you have time to explore the area, I would highly recommend it. If you travel upstream for 5 mins you will come to another waterhole that is fairly secluded and a great place to relax and enjoy one of the Pilbara’s gem locations.

This photo is an older one taken on my last camera a Canon 30d .
